Life Drawing

Here are some my life drawing paintings. I have used pencil, watercolour, acrylic and gouache. I have sketched then painted these images.

For the first image i have used acrylic and drawn with graphite. The model posed 3/4 times for about 15 minutes each time, I drew each pose then elapsed them together on top of each-other, then coloured the shadows and highlights.

For the second image I drew with an ink pen using black indian ink, then I coloured the image in with different coloured inks.

For the last picture I drew the model in black and white, and I used acrylic and graphite.

All images are A2 40x60cm

Embroidery and Silk Painting

These pictures here show some embroidery I did. The picture above, I used gold gutter and silk paint on silk twill.

This image I embroidered a teacup and cup onto silk twill, as experimentations for techniques to be used on garments.

This image, I printed a block pattern with procion dyes, onto calico, then I hand embroidered around the side.

These examples I used towards my projects to get a taste of the different techniques that can be used for garments.

Sketchbook Pages

These pictures are of some of my sketchbook pages for my Day Dress Assignment/Project. These pages show research on different designers, styles and colour pallets. On the right page, I drew two sketch idea's, and used watercolour.
This page is part of my mood-board, here I experimented with existing designs and patterns, along with colours and samples. I also have my own drawings and patterns on the right page.

These are 24, 12 front 12 back designs of 40, 20 front 20 back designs. I want to show these because I enjoy creating designs, I could have done many more. I used watercolour to colour them, and with an aid of a design booklet for the base poses. But I am capable of drawing my own female and male figurines. For the Day Dress Project I have drawn 40 designs. I chose one from these designs, which is the top far right and middle far right design.

Sketchbook pages are A3.

Daytime Dress - Finished Toile

This project is most recent, as I have just finished the Toile, and ready to do my final garment. I designed a Korean Hanbok styled day dress, which I chose from 20 front and back designs, It consists of a high v neck with a dipped back, a gathered waist with a belt, and a band at the bottom. The colours for the final garment will be pink and yellow, the bodice fabric will be made from my own print, which I did in Print Making.

Scarf Designs (W.I.P)

These images are of a scarf design I am currently designing. The brief is to research 3 given designers, Pucci, Gucci and Hermes, I researched and chose Pucci then designed a patter similar to their creations. Because this project is recent it is currently unfinished, But I have many variations of colours and I have printed on paper. The images here are procion dyes onto calico.

This image is an experimentation on paper, I used the same dyes and stencils.

The scarf dimensions are 23x23 inch.

Moulage 2013

The two images above are of a Moulage I designed last year, Early April 2013 in a pattern cutting lesson. I experimented with the front and back with pleats, twists, and darts. Along with a simple darted pencil skirt with a top hem. We was set to create a moulage experimenting with how it flows and shapes, and I wanted mine to be delicate, so I created an open front and back. I plaited the fabric to create a back piece to hold the fabric on the higher shoulder, and the pencil skirt together, also making it look elegant.

Paper Manipulation Garment

This experimental garment I made at the beginning of my course in early October 2012 after beginning the course in September.  I worked with paper, and how it can be manipulated, the brief was to create a garment from samples of paper manipulations that we had made. I experimented with waxing and bleaching. For the skirt, I trapped different types of paper, printed paper, and string and wool. For the top piece I bleached, inked, and stencilled onto white and black paper.
